Working with the unconscious mind
My name is Deirdre Brady and I am a trained Counsellor, having a first-class Hons degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and an advanced diploma in Hypno-psychotherapy, Psychoanalysis and Hypnotherapy. I am a member of The European Association of Professional Hypnotherapists (EAPH). I am also qualified in yoga, meditation, energy and sound therapy.
I offer a safe, understanding and confidential relationship with my clients in which to explore and resolve difficult thoughts and emotions. I am an integrative therapist which means I use a variety of techniques including person-centred therapy, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy.
I want to help you achieve your goals, in the shortest time possible, getting to the cause of the problem to produce long-lasting positive change. All my work is client-focused and all successful therapy is a working partnership. As each person is unique so is each therapy session tailored to suit the needs of my client.
Having trained in Yoga in 2013 and through the practice of Meditation and Yoga Nidra I became fascinated with the deeper aspects of the unconscious mind and how it affects everything in our lives. The most effective way to change behaviour for the better is to work with your unconscious mind. According to Freud (1915), the father of psychoanalysis, the unconscious mind is the primary source of human behaviour. Like the analogy of an iceberg, the conscious mind is the tip of the iceberg seen above the water while the most important part of the mind is the part you cannot see, the part that lies beneath the surface and goes very deep.
